Theft Online Highlighted: Just One More Example!

A-   Prelude

The best way to fight theft online would be to expose the thieves online whenever possible. This should always be based on well documented, legally acceptable, information.

Always people exist who try to abuse things and to take advantage of things in ways, though they may differ, that reflect

– greed,

– interest in illicit gains,

– malign intentions towards others,

– crminal intentions based on agression against others and (devilish) skills in bypassing laws and falsifying facts, etc.

You may be innocent enough to say: Well, they are a fly in the ointment!

No my friend! To your astonishment, they are like flies! They are parasites feeding on others’ blood!

The following story is real. The victim, Mr. V, was anonymized on his demand. The aim is to expose the culprit and warn potential victims against falling unawares into the trap set ahead!

B-Betraying the Customer and Dragging Him to a Set Trap

 How the story began, and how it unfolded, will be presented in what follows:

On September 27, 2010, Mr. V was searching the Internet for a software that would remove passwords from password-locked Word docs. Finally, he was attracted to the “word Password Recovery” software on the site

because the offer, there, was “seemingly” good enough for his goal of removing the forgotten passwords. The information provided on the site did not refer to any form of credits that the customer will receive on placing an order, regardless of whether it would be for personal or for business use. His choice, however, was for personal use. He placed the order on September 28 and paid €29.95 via Paypal. Immediately thereafter, Mr. V received a code key to unlock the software and start using it. The first step, as expected, was to acquaint oneself with the software by trying it on one or two password-locked Word documents. Things were very fine. However, when he tried to unlock a third document, he received the unexpected message:

The message is clear: Your license key has expired and you must purchase additional Decryption Credits (DCs). Mr. V responded to this message on September 28-29 and asked support@intelore.com for more information about that, which was not available to the customer before using the software!. Mr. V was totally unaware of his available DCs just after the purchase of the software. He got no response! However, the “twin site”

www.passwordlastic.com

that has almost identical license agreement responded to my contact with them and told me that they offer their customers 100 DCs for €29.95, for personal use!

The fact that support@intelore.com did not respond to Mr. V’s e-mails, together with their suspicious attitudes in dealing with those legitimate e-mails, reflected that the people running

www.intelore.com

were, and still are, professional thieves online! What they did with Mr. V was nothing other than theft online! This conclusion by Mr. V came after about 30 days of futile correspondence with both the publisher at support@intelore.com and the share-it team was logical and very much justified! This reflected that those people did have malign intentions from the beginning! And this showed that Mr. V had had no guarantee, whatsoever, that it would have proceeded smoothly had he purchased additional DCs! The risk was there that shortly after new the purchase of new DCs he would, most likely, receive a message that his credit expired and that he needed to buy more …! What will surprise you, here, is what they stated in their license agreement:

 “If you found an error in the program or have ideas on how to make it better, please send us an e-mail at: support@intelore.com.”

 The strange thing, here, is that they do not consider the presence of mistakes in their software as a necessary and sufficient condition for abrogating their license agreement with their customers! Besides, and just before that, they stated that:

 “If you have any questions regarding the operation of “Word Password Recovery”, please feel free to contact us at: support@intelore.com”,

 which they did not abide by! Another trick lies in the following deceitful statement:

 “PLEASE NOTE: In the case of a service, your right to revocation expires prematurely if the contract was completely fulfilled by both parties at your express request before you exercised your right of revocation.”

Note that if the contract was “completely fulfilled by both parties at your express request before you exercised your right of revocation”, then your right to revocation would have expired! This is a flagrant, malignant intention, which was not revealed to the customer before purchasing their product! This was very likely behind their not-responding to the e-mails from Mr. V, in which he raised legitimate points including his right to know his decryption credit just after receiving the license key for using the software for the first time! Let alone his right to technical support!

The rest of the story is in what follows ahead, in which the “mentality of professional thieves online” underlies these people’s responses to Mr. V’s e-mails!

 The Paypal document is important because it means that Paypal has information about those people such as their e-mail, their address and their bank account.

Your software registration process, together with the information provided by you about your software, on your site www.intelore,com, dose not include any reference to “credit exhaustion”, or to the presence of an allotted credit, whatsoever! This situation makes your demand for “additional credit”, in order for your software to resume its working, is NOT legally justified … simply because your customer was not “previously” notified about the existence of such a situation! 

Please respond to my e-mails, and I hope that this arising situation will turn your attention to the presence of “legal gaps” in the “License Agreement” that you forge with your customers.

This reveals that you are not up to your promises to respond to your customers’ contacts. Are you not aware of this non-professional situation?

You demanded your customers to contact support@intelore.com for arising problems. My 3 e-mails to this address have not been answered. What do you mean by “publisher”? Is the publisher someone else other than intelore? Was the address support@intelore.com, provided by you, wrong?  I have sent you, so far, 5 or 6 e-mails. support@intelore.com did not  respond as if the support team were not concerned. This situation has resulted in a sphere of dissatisfaction and waste of much time, which makes it not practical to proceed with the use of your product. I knew recently, from one of your fellow companies, that you offer your customers a period of guarantee of 30 days during which dissatisfaction would lead to refund of the customer's paid amount. I have already  asked you for such refunding, and I do repeat this request. I hope that you will take my request into consideration.  Please respond to this e-mail.
